Code of Ethics

B.L. Mediterraneo S.r.l. considers ethics to be the foundation of its business activities and assumes social and environmental responsibility, committing itself to improving the quality of life in the communities in which it operates. The adoption of this Code of Ethics is an ongoing commitment to integrity, sustainability and consistency in all company activities, both in Italy and on international markets.

 

1. Recipients

 

The Code of Ethics establishes the principles and rules of conduct that guide B.L. Mediterraneo's activities. The principles apply to:

 

• Members of the administrative, control and supervisory bodies.
• Managers and all collaborators (employees, temporary workers, consultants) acting in the name and on behalf of B.L. Mediterraneo.
• Partners and suppliers.


It is the responsibility of the corporate bodies and managers to act with integrity and consistency, promoting the dissemination and observance of ethical principles by all recipients. Any action that conflicts with the law or the Code of Ethics is to be considered unacceptable, even if it may appear to be advantageous to the Company.

 

2. Mission and Values

 

The Code guides relations with all stakeholders (customers, suppliers, communities, institutions, employees), committing the Company to adopt conduct inspired by ethics and integrity, in addition to mere compliance with the law.

B.L. Mediterraneo bases its organizational culture on four core values:

3. Fundamental Principles

B.L. Mediterraneo's companies and employees undertake to comply with the following fundamental principles, acting in accordance with the mission, values and international and national laws and regulations.


3.1. Protection of Human Rights, Security and Inclusion


Rights and Labour: Respect, protection and promotion of human and labour rights are guaranteed. B.L. Mediterraneo is committed to combating and preventing all forms of exploitation, including forced and child labour, as well as acts of violence, harassment and illegal labour intermediation practices. B.L. undertakes to apply and respect the broadest trade union rights, such as freedom of association and the right to strike, without discrimination, in accordance with the Workers' Statute and applicable laws.
• Health and Safety: The Company complies with and exceeds regulations, investing in safe workplaces and promoting a culture of safety and risk prevention for all workers and suppliers.
• Diversity and Equal Opportunities: The dignity and diversity of each individual is recognized. Equal opportunities and fair treatment are guaranteed at all stages of the employment relationship (selection, remuneration, promotion), based on merit and professional skills. We condemn all forms of discrimination, abuse, mobbing or harassment based on personal characteristics.


3.2. Integrity, Corruption and Conflict of Interest

 

• Integrity and Honesty: All Employees are required to operate according to the highest standards of integrity and honesty, taking care of company resources and using them correctly and appropriately.
• Anti-Corruption: B.L. Mediterraneo has a zero-tolerance policy towards corruption, bribery, fraud and any payment made to obtain improper advantages. Only commercial courtesies of limited value are permitted, provided they do not influence the impartiality or reputation of the persons involved.
• Conflict of Interest: Employees must act solely in the best interests of the Company, avoiding any situation (real or potential) of conflict of interest that could influence decisions. Any conflict situation must be reported immediately.


3.3. Transparency, Accounting and Legal Regulations


• Transparent Management and Internal Control: The Company is committed to ensuring transparency in management and the reliability of accounting, financial and non-financial records. Employees must contribute to the effectiveness of the Internal Control System.
• Financial Legality: B.L. Mediterraneo operates in full compliance with anti-money laundering regulations, ensuring that all economic and financial transactions are lawful and traceable, and that no relationships are maintained with suspicious parties.


3.4. Information and Fair Competition


• Confidentiality and Data: Confidential and privileged information is a strategic asset. All those who become aware of it must observe the utmost confidentiality. The Company guarantees the protection of the personal data (privacy) of Employees, customers and suppliers, in full compliance with current regulations.
• Competition and Intellectual Property: B.L. Mediterraneo fully complies with antitrust laws and fair competition regulations, dealing honestly with customers and competitors. It ensures the protection of its own and others' intellectual property (patents, trademarks).


3.5. Sustainability and Supply Chain


• Environmental Resources: The Company promotes sustainable development and the protection of natural resources, operating with a view to reducing the direct and indirect impact of its production activities (packaging and palletising machinery) and increasingly adopting environmental sustainability and circularity practices.
• Suppliers and Partnerships: Suppliers are considered strategic partners and are invited to comply with this Code of Ethics throughout the supply chain.
